Ethiopian Ardi

Get ready to enjoy an award-winning favorite!

Ethiopian Ardi is not only a local favorite here in Billings, Montana, but Rock Creek Coffee Roasters won a North American Golden Bean Award for it’s roasting of this coffee.

With one sip, you’ll see why…

This coffee has a unique, red-berry, dried fruit and floral flavor with a phenomenal, full-body taste and medium acidity. It has a juicy mouth feel and more than a hint of strawberries.

You’ll love sharing it with friends, family members, customers, and more. (Know that it pairs especially well with bitter foods, like dark chocolate.)

You see, the coffee comes from a small group of sustainable farmers in the Sidama region of Ethiopia at an altitude of 1750-1950 M. And this area has a long history of coffee. In fact, Ethiopia is known as the birthplace of the coffee tree (and where human evolution began)!

The location is perfect for growing coffee in the nutrient, fertile soil, which actually gives the beans their rich color.

And it is a site to see.

Hundreds of skilled workers carefully sort out the best cherries, and dry them on hundreds of raised beds in a natural process.

At harvest time between September and January, the hillside washing stations are covered with crimson cherries drying in the sun for eight to twelve or more days.

The workers rotate the cherries every 30 minutes as this is critical for the coffee’s distinctive flavor and moisture level.

When the beans are dry and ready, they are packaged and sent to carefully chosen roasters across the world, like Rock Creek Coffee Roasters.

Ethiopian Ardi is named after a famous, early human fossil discovered there. It’s a phenomenal coffee that is carefully grown, harvested and shipped at the peak of freshness for your enjoyment.
