Billings, get ready to look up. The Yellowstone International Air Show is landing here August 22 and 23, and it's bringing the biggest name in aviation with it.
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are headlining this year's show, and 2026 is no ordinary year for them. The team is celebrating 80 years of jaw-dropping precision flying. Since 1946, the Blue Angels have represented the hundreds of thousands of Sailors and Marines who serve our country, and their demonstrations are every bit as thrilling today as they were eight decades ago.
There's even more to celebrate. This year also marks America's 250th anniversary, and the air show is honoring that milestone in a big way. Expect a weekend full of patriotism, innovation, and pure excitement overhead.
More Than Just an Air Show
This isn't only about planes (though the planes are incredible). The Yellowstone International Air Show is a full-scale, family-friendly event that blends aviation with sports, entertainment, art, and technology. There are static aircraft displays to explore up close, vendors throughout the grounds, and performances all day long.
The Schedule
The show runs Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23. Both days follow the same lineup:
Gates open at 9:00 am. The air show starts at 11:00 am. The Blue Angels take the sky at 3:00 pm, and gates close at 4:30 pm.
Arrive early, wander the displays, and stake out a good viewing spot before the action begins.
Ticket Options for Everyone
General Admission gets you a full day of access to the event grounds, static displays, vendors, and every scheduled performance. Kids 10 and under get in at the general admission price.
Want to level up? There are three VIP experiences. The Centennial Club is the most exclusive option, with premier viewing, indoor and outdoor seating, an open full bar, and catered meals. The Liberty Lounge offers premier viewing with indoor dining, complimentary drinks, and a buffet lunch. And the Freedom Friends & Family lounge is built for families, with shaded comfort, kid-friendly food, and children's activities.
One note for VIP: every guest age 3 and up needs their own VIP ticket, and general admission tickets don't include VIP access.
A Thank You to Those Who Serve
Active duty military, veterans, and first responders can request a special discount on general admission tickets. Verification of service is required, and you can submit a request right on the air show's website.
