This is very clean coffee with hints of roasted ground nuts and a sweet, toffee finish. It tastes just like regular coffee because pure water is used to gently remove caffeine in a very systematic way.
Specifically, Swiss Water® Process uses the elements of water, temperature and time to create their delicious decaf coffee.They start with the finest coffee beans from Brazil and around the world.
Then, they introduce their own Green Coffee Extract (GCE) to small batches of the beans. The caffeine gets trapped into their special carbon filters. It naturally goes into the GCE,”until the ratio of soluble compounds in the GCE to the compounds in the coffee reach the point of equilibrium.”
During this process, they add local water while carefully monitoring the time and temperature. This continues for 10 or more hours until the coffee is 99.9% caffeine-free.
When the coffee passes quality tests, the decaffeinated green beans are shipped to Rock Creek Coffee Roasters ready for your drinking pleasure!
